Satellite or UHF, we have you covered

Built-in Dual Tuners

Unlike many other places in the world, New Zealand homes have a distinct mixture of satellite and UHF tuners depending on whereabouts in the country they live. While some other global brands just cover off UHF capable homes with models designed for overseas markets, at Panasonic we have ensured that our TVs are fitted with both tuners especially for Kiwis.

Take your TV with you wherever you go

TV Anytime

Have you heard of TV Anytime? It is Panasonic’s unique and innovative feature which allows you to access your TV from a tablet or phone regardless of where in the world you might be. You can use the system to set recordings on your TV or, even better, you can stream live broadcasts or recorded content from your TV to your smart device - even if you're outdoors. All you need is an internet connection and "Panasonic Media Center App" in your smart device. Even thought On Demand provides us with easy ways to catch up on missed programmes, there are still things like sport, the news, and live events that we simply don’t want to miss. TV Anytime means you don’t have to miss those moments.

Expect more from your TV

4K HDR Game Mode

We know that for many, buying a TV is about more than sport, TV shows, and NETFLIX. TVs are the centre of our gaming experiences too and so our engineers got to work to make sure that our optimal picture quality was matched by speed and feedback performance for the ultimate in gaming capability. By switching to 4K HDR Game Mode you’ll halve the display lag time from 40 milliseconds to 20 milliseconds. Superior image processing means quicker response times and an experience of instantaneous game play. Additionally, as the name suggests, the mode is perfect for 4K capable games; you’ll notice the difference.

True to the Filmmakers’ Vision

Panasonic has long understood that delivering the most accurate TV pictures possible means working with the creative community who actually make all those films and TV shows you love to watch. This is why there’s been a Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory in the heart of Los Angeles for more than 20 years, collaborating with film studios, individual directors, cinematographers, and colourists for the latest technology.

What is HDR?

Put simply, it is better. HDR stands for High Dynamic Range. A TV with HDR expands the expressible brights and darks to achieve more detailed images. When images are captured and displayed in 4K HDR they show greater colour and brightness range than even the naked eye can take in resulting in exquisite detail. Some TVs are stuck at an outdated 100-300 nits (brightness measurement) – reflecting the days of CRT TVs (the tube ones that used to weigh a tonne and had to sit a metre away from the wall because they were so bulky). In producing images at this level, a lot of details are lost in dark and bright colour areas. HDR delivers real-life details by increasing the brightness level to 1000 nits.

Multi HDR Support

Support for multiple HDR formats

Panasonic TVs support now multiple HDR formats, such as HDR10 the standard HDR format for films and UHD Blu-ray discs, and now also Hybrid Log Gamma, the HDR format for broadcast TV developed by the BBC and Japan's NHK.

Local Dimming Pro

Real-life images created with high contrast

Backlight control and signal processing combine to control the brightness in thousands of areas for outstanding contrast expression. They also render fine hues and produce images with exceptional depth.

Super Bright Panel Plus

Boosts brightness to make pictures look crisper and more dynamic

LCD TVs aren’t usually very bright when set up to look their best, due to the types of light they use and the need to limit brightness to aid contrast. Super Bright Panels solve this problem via a combination of a new panel-driving system, a panel structure that lets light through more easily, and a highly efficient backlight system.

Dynamic Scene Optimiser

Excellent contrast and colouring even in a brightly lit room

Panasonic TVs support multiple HDR formats, such as HDR10 and Hybrid Log Gamma. In addition in order to enhance your HDR experience, Panasonic also offers some original functions, such HDR Metadata Creation, which optimises HDR images according to the content, and Auto Brightness Enhancer, which adjusts video in response to the ambient lights in your viewing environment.

Easy connectivity for sound & media playback

Bluetooth® Audio Link

Panasonic Audio Link gives you the power to use your TV and other home entertainment products however you want. Play music, podcasts, audiobooks, (whatever audio content you choose) from your smart phone or tablet through your TV’s speakers; just turn on Bluetooth® and you’re good to go. Or if you want more volume or multidirectional sound, use Audio Link to play audio from another Bluetooth® capable speaker or sound system! No complicated settings, just wireless audio flexibility!

Easy viewing of your photos and videos on your TV screen

Media players let you play back on your big screen any multimedia content - be it photos, movies or music - stored on USB memory sticks.

Plenty of plug-in

4 HDMI & 3 USB inputs

Sometimes we still need to physically plug devices in so Panasonic TVs have plenty of terminals for HDMIs and USBs for you to use without having to switch in and out too much. Plus, TV programmes can be recorded onto a USB Memory Stick or external hard disk drive simply by pressing the REC button on the remote control. It doesn't get much easier than that!
