The EVO 300 Hybrid Power Amplifier combines a tube input stage with a MOSFET output stage, using innovative engineering to ensure both sections operate seamlessly together. This carefully matched design delivers the natural texture and harmonic richness of tubes with the power, control and low-frequency authority of solid-state amplification.

Switchable Gain

The solid-state power stage offers selectable gain settings of 24 dB or 30 dB while keeping the tube-stage gain constant. This provides greater flexibility when matching the amplifier with different preamplifiers and system configurations.

Tube Input, Solid-State Power

Two 12AU7 tubes handle input gain, while four additional 12AU7 driver tubes lower the output impedance of the valve stage. This configuration supports wide dynamics, expansive imaging and the rich harmonics associated with tube amplification.

Custom MOSFET Output Stage

The solid-state output section uses cascaded Linear Systems JFETs and two complementary pairs of custom Exicon MOSFETs per channel. Selected for their tube-like characteristics, these components provide excellent control, powerful bass and a smooth, natural presentation.

Powerful, Controlled Performance

Delivering 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 160 watts per channel into 4 ohms, the EVO 300 Hybrid offers the drive required for demanding loudspeakers while preserving musical texture, dimensionality and tonal richness.

Premium Signal-Path Capacitors

Critical positions in the signal path use premium European-made tin-foil capacitors. High-quality components are also used throughout the remaining circuitry to maintain clarity, consistency and long-term performance.

Stereo or Monoblock Operation

The EVO 300 Hybrid can be switched between stereo and monoblock operation, allowing your system to expand over time. Begin with a single stereo amplifier, then add a second unit for dedicated monoblock amplification and greater system capability.

Custom Toroidal Power Transformers

PrimaLuna uses massive, custom-made toroidal power transformers to minimise magnetic and acoustic noise. Each transformer is enclosed in metal and potted in non-microphonic resin to reduce vibration and protect its windings from moisture and deterioration.

AC Offset Killer

PrimaLuna’s AC Offset Killer reduces transformer noise caused by irregularities in the mains supply. The resulting quieter background helps reveal greater space, texture and natural decay throughout the music.

Point-to-Point Wiring

The signal path is meticulously hand-wired by skilled craftspeople using heavy-gauge cable. Critical connections use Swiss-made, silver-plated OCC copper wire with a Teflon dielectric to preserve signal purity and clarity.

Premium Takman Resistors

Japanese-made Takman resistors are used for their low noise, linearity and musical performance. Frequently chosen for premium audio upgrades, they form part of PrimaLuna’s uncompromising approach to component quality.
