It renders audio with precision and supports a wide array of modern and legacy source inputs, including PC-USB (32-bit / 384kHz) with DSD 4X support, coaxial and optical (24-bit / 192kHz), wireless aptX™ HD Bluetooth, and RCA analog connections.

ESS Sabre DAC for Exceptional Resolution

At its core, the DX-3 is driven by the ESS Sabre ES9028PRO 8-channel DAC, ensuring exceptional digital-to-analog conversion. This allows music to be reproduced with ultimate resolution and maximized immersive soundstage, delivering a listening experience that captures every nuance and detail.

Powerful, Low-Distortion Headphone Amplifier

The internal headphone amplifier is powered by a custom, in-house manufactured shielded toroidal transformer with high-current drivers, producing dynamics with ultra-low distortion of <0.004%. Variable user-selectable headphone gain levels—High, Medium, and Low—support both low- and high-impedance headphones via front-panel 4.4mm balanced and 6.35mm single-ended connectors. Volume attenuation is managed by an audiophile-grade NJW1195A analog controller, providing precise steps as fine as 0.5dB.

Flexible DAC and Preamplifier Functionality

The DX-3 also functions as a standalone DAC and fully-featured preamplifier through XLR balanced and RCA outputs. This versatility allows it to directly drive external amplifiers, powered speakers, or integrate into existing audio systems. A full-color front panel display provides clear user feedback and simplifies setup, while the included aluminium extruded remote control gives convenient access to all runtime and configuration functions.
