We are excited to announce a monthly playlist of our top 10 discoveries we believe are some of the best tunes in the game!
As part of NZ May Music Month 2022 we have included 3 artists from Aotearoa.
Sea Mouse are a 3 piece band from Wellington and have a hard hitting sound in “Side B Track 1” that will showcase your speakers balance of organisation and attack. This Jack White sounding band has a husky vocals, rhythm changes and distorted guitars.
Arjuna Oakes is an Auckland-based musician who fuses baritone textures with subtle overtones and horns. The best systems should be able to pick the resonance of the crack on the snare in his tune “Watch the World Burn” and also offer a really punchy kick.
Lastly in our NZ offerings, we have Christchurch’s own Beacon Bloom. Headed by Ryan Ferris, this band have produced a masterful performance as far as attack and decay go. Sampling textures galore their tune “Rocket” is everything we would want out of a fresh NZ sound.
