Encel

In 1958, Alex Encel read a magazine article about the advent of stereo, and subsequently assembled an amplifier and pair of speakers by hand. Soon after, he would hold the first demonstration of two-channel music in Australia.

This new hobby soon turned into a successful business, and grew through the ‘70s and ‘80s into a leading retail and wholesale operation. Today, the spirit of Alex's original goals endure, taking the shape of an expanding range of hifi products to suit modern customers. Based in Melbourne, still family-run and with branding collaborations using local Australian artists, Encel products are built with an eye to sustainability, design and great sound.
